Hello! I'm Leah.

I've been illustrating things since at least first grade, when my sister and I decided to make little handmade books with which to entertain our youngest, craziest sister. These were, in our opinion, masterfully written tales complete with highly professional, full-color, mixed media (pencil+crayon) drawings to go with them. Years later, I was ecstatic to learn that drawing pictures for stories was actually a viable career path, and I've been working in illustration ever since.

I received my BFA in Illustration from Brigham Young University, with a minor in Plant and Landscape Systems. My love for the natural world inspires me in my art, as does my passion for storytelling, character interactions, and the whimsy of everyday moments.

When I'm not drawing, I love reading novels (to myself), reading children's books (to my baby son... and also myself), hiking, gardening, and cooking new recipes with my husband.
